Water managed by Stornoway Angling Association
Loch Foid trout are of a similar quality to those found in Achmore, although they may be slightly smaller in size. The fishing is good during August and September, particularly near the stream at the east end of the loch and in the narrow section. The loch is generally good for fly fishing as there are few high banks that would hinder casting.
There are also large shallow areas, making it ideal for wading.
Successful flies that have been noted include Goat’s Toe, Bibio, Clan Chief, Blae & Black, and Dabblers.
