water managed by Saddleworth Anglers
Dovestone Reservoir lies well inland at mid elevation, set in an open upland basin. It is a small water of roughly 31 hectares, with a modest fetch and a shoreline that turns steadily around small bays and points. The basin is fairly deep for its size, averaging about 14 metres, and the water is of low alkalinity.
The perimeter runs a little over three kilometres, giving scope to wander the banks and find shelter when needed. The shoreline shows moderate variety without becoming broken, and the water holds its shape cleanly in most conditions.
