Water managed by Rhayader and Elan Valley Angling Association
Llyn Carw is a very small lake lying in the upland country of Powys, to the south-west of Claerwen reservoir. It covers barely one and a half hectares and sits in mid-altitude moorland, well away from any road or track. The shoreline is simple and compact, and the llyn is of moderate depth for its size. With low alkalinity and the surrounding landscape of open hill, the water is likely clear and unproductive by lowland standards.
The lake holds wild brown trout running to over a pound, which is a respectable size for such a remote and modest water. No other fishing details are recorded.
