About this water

Iasg Loch is a very small hill loch of roughly 5 hectares, set among the moors of Argyll and Bute. The water is shallow with a simple, rounded shoreline, lying about four kilometres inland from the coast. With low alkalinity, the loch reflects the acidic nature of the surrounding moorland.

The loch holds brown trout between eight ounces and one pound.

The approach follows a gentle climb of just over three kilometres from Glenbeg, ascending nearly 200 metres through moorland terrain. The route winds north-eastward across open ground before reaching the loch's southern shore.
